Since 1898, wheat has been turned into pasta for love

The history of the De Sortis pasta factory began in the late 1800s with an idea from Vincenzo De Sortis, a mill mechanic in Argentina. His technical skills allowed him, upon his return to Italy, to build the first stone mill with his sons in a small town in Basilicata, Pietragalla. The milling business continued until the early 1970s when Vincenzo realised his dream by founding the De Sortis pasta factory. Vincenzo took care of every detail: he laid the first stone of the new factory in May 1972, personally overseeing the structure and focusing the company's attention on product quality. Today, the company covers an area of approximately 25,000 square metres, 12,000 of which are covered, with six production lines:/p>

L’azienda annovera all’interno del proprio portfolio più di cento diversi formati di pasta, spaziando dalle tipologie standard a quelle speciali. Inoltre, la pasta realizzata dal pastificio De Sortis può essere trafilata al bronzo o al teflon, processo che conferisce al prodotto diverse texture della superficie e diverse consistenze. Nella variegata gamma di prodotti rientrano anche la pasta all’uovo, realizzata con uova free range e la pasta di semola integrale, entrambe disponibili in formato BIO.
